It's every patrons worst nightmare, you are sitting down for a romantic meal with your partner or a good fun lunch with some girlfriends. You salivate as you look down the menu at the yummy items on the menu. You decide you feel like a creamy seafood risotto and place your order.
Twenty minutes later after sipping on a nice semillon savignon blanc your meals arrive. You dip you fork on and taste the scrumptious seafood flavours and the perfectly cooked rissotto grains. The conversation continues.
But shock, horror, about half way through, you see something that doesn't look quite right. Something black that looks like something familiar. You dip in with your fork and raise the submerged item from being buried in the risotto grains and look aghast at the familiar form of a black cockroach with legs in the air.
If you are gagging like me now, then you are not alone. This is what happened to a patron in Brisbane recently and the four star Brisbane restuarant was fined $25000 for serving up the cockroach as well as the having a cockroach infestation in their kitchen.
In Perth, there are over 19000 licenced eateries and food producers. Over 300 inspectors randomly inspect these eateries around 30,000 plus times a year and 1 in 10 is non compliant according to health standards. Many with cockroach or rat infestations.
These problems are extremely solvable with regular treatments from a professional Pest treatment specialist such as Lawson Pest Control. If you are a restuarant or cafe, then find out how we can save you tens of thousands of dollars in fines with a regular inspection and treatment program.
